Czech for Foreigners (Bachelor’s – 3 Year Program)

Want to master the Czech language? Besides practical language teaching, the study will be primarily focused on elementary theoretical instruction on the language system, on Czech literature, history and cultural background. The instruction will be carried out in English which is seen as a mediating language that can help students learn Czech more effectively. This programme can not be combined with other study programmes at Palacký University Olomouc.

Requirements for admission

Applicants for the study must submit authenticated documents of completed high school education and a certificate of his/her mastery of English at A2* level (at least at). The annual fee for the academic year 2023/2024 is 4000 EUR and must be paid before September 30, 2023.*)

Graduates‘ profile and employability prospect

The graduate of the study programme has the B2 level command (communicative competence) in the Czech language that allows them to communicate effectively in all everyday situations or participate in professional pertaining their specialization. The graduate is prepared to apply their knowledge as a commercial translator/interpreter, as a tourist guide, as an author of simple commercial texts (instructions, informational brochures, etc.), they are prepared to teach Czech at the elementary level as a first-line lector in his home country.
